Call me superstitious, but I feel like my loaves turn out better when I’m happy with my sourdough starter names! I recently renamed my sluggish starter "The Phoenix" hoping it would rise better, and honestly, the crumb has never been fluffier. It’s like the starter knows it has a cool new identity!

Do you believe that sourdough starter names help you bond more with the process, leading to better bread? Or is it just a bit of harmless kitchen fun? I’d love to hear if anyone else has "re-branded" their starter to boost their baking confidence!
